re: “What reproductive rights do men have?”
In a general context, “reproductive rights” involves the right to eucation in sexual and reproductive health, and according to the World Health Organization “the right of men and women to be informed of and to have access to safe, effective, affordable and acceptable methods of fertility regulation of their choice.” Additionally, most agree that reproductive rights would include freedom from coercion and violence.
For instance, every time a man puts on a condom, they are exercising a reproductive right. They could be choosing to wear the condom to control whether or not they wish to take the risk of fathering a child, or choosing to engage in “safe sex” to reduce the risk of potential exposure to STDs.
Reproductive rights do not, however, grant anybody the ability to dictate to others the choices they make regarding their sexuality, their health, their bodies. As Oliver Wendell Holmes famously stated, “The right to swing my fist ends where the other man’s nose begins.”
