Harriet Harman, the feminist Minister for Women and Equality in the UK has been recommended by the Office Of National Statistics to present “gender wage gap” statistics differently in this report in order to give the figures in a fairer light. There is more evidence that her use of statistics are causing consternation in Whitehall. Previously to this, Ms. Harman has claimed that “on average women are paid 22.6% per hour less than men”. However, this figure is based on total hours worked by both sexes – but does take into account the actual amount of hours worked by women.
From the Office Of National Statistics report (emphasis mine) ;-
The measure for all employees showed a pay difference of 22.5 percent in favour of men and the pay difference for full-timers was 12.8 per cent in April 2008. When looking at part-time employees, the difference was -3.5 per cent, meaning that part-time men were paid less on average than part-time women.
However, Ms. Harman’s own Equality and Human Rights Commission continues unabated with their own investigation on how best to provide the figures for public consumption.
Why not read the report and judge for yourself?

Feminism is a Jewish social-construct which seeks to undermine European gender relations: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Jewish_feminists
You should do a post on that.

The most important point, which is not mentioned here or in the ONS report is that the comparison of average male and female wages is not meaningful. It does not compare like with like because men do not do the same jobs as women.
The obvious reference is Warren Farrels book “Why men earn more”. You really do not need to read the book, just look at the categories in the chapted headings (you can read this much for free in amazon).
Men earn more because they do different work than women. Any comparison of male versus female income is not appropriate unless it is adjusted for all relevant factors.

But when I point out that I am not like that, I also point out that many women are not like that because we are not all the same. Sorry, I also meant to use this part of your coemmnt as a good example of our different ideological perspectives. As a liberal feminist you point out that you’re not like that, or that lots of women aren’t like that. As a radical, I would point out how these stereotypes and narratives are sustaining systemic discrimination and oppression of all women and supporting male power at the expense of all women. Not making that a personal criticism, just using it to highlight an essential difference between liberal feminist and radical feminist responses to patriarchy.

Your take is not quite right. As a professional recruiter I checked to see why our men candidates are passed over or not short listed. We served about 14 FOI requests to City and County councils in England. We found surprising facts. 1. In England’s largest employers, (local authorities) women employees outnumber men in EVERY non manual role. 2.The departments who do the hiring and firing, and who are responsible for gender fairness, are themselves seldom less than 80% Women. In one city,(Stoke on Trent) they have 14000 employees. 9,800 are women.(The average salary for all NM employess is £ 23,000). There is also currently a good indicator of an anti man swing on employment, it is this.In every town and City in Britain there are between 1-10 registrars of Births Marriages and deaths. We were tipped off (a retiree) that since 1975 almost 90% of registrars are now women. If Harpersons bill has teeth she will have to force these employers to take 50% of new recruits as men. I watch with interest. ( By the way since they discriminate against ALL men, they also discriminate against minorities, ethnicity, sexuality, and the disabled.)
